Wellness Day at PnS: A Celebration of Health and Wellbeing.At PnS, prioritising the health and wellness of our employees is essential. In our ongoing commitment to foster a healthy and productive work environment, we were pleased to host a Wellness Day today, dedicated to educating, rejuvenating, and empowering our employees. The day was packed with a variety of activities and services, designed to enhance both physical and mental wellbeing.A cornerstone of our Wellness Day is the comprehensive health screening, featuring the Discovery Vitality Check. This in-depth screening process, taking approximately 30 minutes, is designed to provide employees with a thorough understanding of their current health status. Discovery Health members stand to earn up to 22,500 Vitality Points, offering an added incentive to participate. Post-screening, employees received professional, personalised advice on optimising their health and wellbeing, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to make informed health decisions.In addition to health screenings, the Wellness Day offered a suite of services to support holistic health: Financial Advisory Services, Debt Counselling, Optometry and encouraging our employees to incorporate more physical activity into daily routines, supported by Virgin Active.The Wellness Day is not just about a one-time event; the goal is to foster long-term healthy habits. Regular health check-ups are crucial in detecting potential health issues early, allowing for timely intervention and better health outcomes. Routine screenings can reveal critical information about blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar, and other vital indicators that influence overall health.Healthy eating can prevent chronic diseases, boost energy levels, and enhance mental clarity. AFRICA DAY 2024 | As a group we are wholly committed to unlocking our continent’s potential, which is why education is at the heart of our social efforts. This is where our future lives. There are however mountains to climb, with these three issues being the tallest:1: ACCESS: Simple access to education remains one of the continent's most pressing issues. While school attendance has increased, many rural areas still face imbalances, with children having to traverse great distances.2: GENDER INEQUALITY: Girls and young women encounter significant cultural and safety barriers, hindering their access to education. (*UNESCO's research shows that 9 million sub-Saharan girls aged 6-11 may never attend school.3: LOW-QUALITY SCHOOLING: Severe shortages of physical and learning resources, coupled with a lack of modern technology and adequately trained teachers, contribute to this issue. Language barriers and basic comprehension challenges further limit learning.The theme set by the African Union for 2024 has never been more relevant: "Educate an African fit for the 21st Century," with a focus on building resilient education systems that offer increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.#AfricaDay #AfricanUnion #UNESCO #ThePowerOfAnd #SharedSustainability #SocialImpact

Regional winners and finalists travelled from the far corners of SA, across roles and divisions to come together for our event of the year. It was a sparkling occasion in every way, made especially dazzling by the men and women who deliver on our client promises day in and day out. From Merchandisers, Field Marketers , Sales representatives, Client Managers and GM’s to service support staff and Values ambassadors. Introducing the PnS LeadHERS Circle! I We are excited to announce the launch of our newest initiative, designed to enhance the experiences of women leaders within PnS.The LeadHERS Circle is a dedicated forum crafted to unite our talented female leaders for networking, learning, and the exchange of experiences. Our primary aim is to empower one another, fostering a supportive environment where our senior women leaders enjoy inspiration and growth.CEO Glenn Brauns officially inaugurated the circle this week, and we were honoured to have Dr. Melanie van Rooy as our keynote speaker for the inaugural session. Dr. van Rooy, currently heading Marketing for the Clicks Group, brings a wealth of experience from the retail industry. Having served as Marketing Director for Makro and Dis-Chem Pharmacies, as well as spent time in academia as Professor of Marketing Practice at the University of Johannesburg, she is a highly driven and creative executive with a strong background in Econometrics and Marketing.The session centred on 'The Power of Authentic Leadership'. Dr. van Rooy delved into the concept of authentic leadership, particularly from a woman's perspective. She shared personal stories and aspirations, underlining the importance of vulnerability, transparency, and staying true to oneself while leading and inspiring others.
